Investment Highlights
- Despite the continued growth in waste generation, landfills are becoming increasingly difficult to site and develop.
- The US Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, issued a final approval for the lease in January 2007 for the construction and operation of the Cortina facility.
- Cortina will provide continuous revenue streams from a diverse revenue model.
- A successful project will enable the ability to source and develop additional projects in partnerships with Native American/First Nations contacts.
The United States now produce over 390 million tons of waste per year, up more than 50 percent from what they produced in 1980. Recycling programs have waned slightly in recent years and struggle to keep pace with the ever increasing per capita disposal .
